Not tomorrow…

but probably the day after I will have to go to the service centre and have my BioBot reset to last Monday. Itīs hiding under the couch for three days now and doesnīt dare to come out again.
I spent hours tempting the BioBot to leave its hiding place but I am at my wits' end by now. The most annoying thing is that I canīt even blame the software for the Botīs weird behaviour because I know it is my own fault: On Thursday I was going to paint my room when I knocked over a ladder and almost smashed the BioBot with it. I missed it only by a few centimetres and this near-death scared it so much that it shot away and holed up in the living room.

Itīs a shame to have it reset though. Iīve just made good progress teaching it to iron my shirts but that was after the last backup copy of its memory.
Nevertheless it is amazing how much the BioBot learned since I bought it two years ago. I can still remember how I initiated the growing process with a few cells of mine. Shortly after that the arms started to grow and it tried its first clumsy steps closely watching my reactions. It didnīt take long until the BioBot became a fun and useful part of my everyday life: It learned doing my dishes, cleaning my flat and even handling the washing machine. But the coolest thing I taught it is to run towards me and happily wave its arms every time I come home. Even though I know that the BioBot is actually a machine this emotional welcome always cheers me up.

Anyway, the BioBot might combine the newest achievements in engineering and artificial intelligence research but right now Iīm just trying to reach the button to finally switch it off.

BioBot BioBot
The BioBot is a personal robot consisting of both biological and technical components.
At the time of purchase the BioBot is highly intelligent but has neither knowledge nor memories. It will try out random things in order to develop behaviour and character patterns by learning from your reactions.
The gain of skills and knowledge is synchronised with the physical growth of its biological components so skills as well as its body are slowly adjusting to increasing demands of itīs user.
